چکیده
Knowledge about the magnetic eld distribution in radio frequency coils is important for both magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The information about the eld's distribution is used to obtain correct excitation pulse ip angles, as well as to perform signal strength corrections. Another use is also accelerating imaging and spectroscopic examinations, where accurate de nition of the B1 eld is essential to perform proper image and/or spectrum reconstruction. We developed a method for measurement of the B1 /B + 1 elds as an alternative approach to B1 /B + 1 elds assessment in MR scanner. Our setup incorporates an industrial coordinate table controlled by a PC-based program, search coils, a two port vector network analyzer and an analog-to-digital (A/D) card. It is possible to measure in various liquid media (for example in saline solution) to mimic di erent shapes and dielectric properties of the human body.

Non-uniformity of Clinical Head, Head and Neck, and Body Coils in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Introduction Signal intensity uniformity in a magnetic resonance (MR) image indicates how well the MR imaging (MRI) system represents an object. One of the major sources of image non-uniformity in high-field MRI scanners is inhomogeneity of radio-frequency coil. The aim of this study was to investigate non-uniformity in head, head and neck, and body coils and compare the obtained results to det...

The idea of using parallel imaging to shorten the acquisition time by the simultaneous use of multiple receive coils can be adapted for the parallel transmission of a spatially-selective multidimensional RF pulse. As in data acquisition, a multidimensional RF pulse follows a certain k-space trajectory. Shortening this trajectory shortens the pulse duration. The use of multiple transmit coils, e...
متن کاملAn Asymmetric Birdcage Coil for Small-animal MR Imaging at 7T
The birdcage (BC) coil is currently being utilized for uniform radiofrequency (RF) transmit/receive (Tx/Rx) or Tx-only configuration in many magnetic resonance (MR) imaging applications, but insufficient magnetic flux (|B1|) density and their non-uniform distribution still exists in high-field (HF) environments. We demonstrate that the asymmetric birdcage (ABC) transmit/receive (Tx/Rx) volume c...
متن کاملSimultaneous radiofrequency (RF) heating and magnetic resonance (MR) thermal mapping using an intravascular MR imaging/RF heating system.
Previous studies have confirmed the possibility of using an intravascular MR imaging guidewire (MRIG) as a heating source to enhance vascular gene transfection/expression. This motivated us to develop a new intravascular system that can perform MR imaging, radiofrequncy (RF) heating, and MR temperature monitoring simultaneously in an MR scanner. To validate this concept, a series of mathematica...
متن کاملBloch‐Siegert B1+‐mapping for human cardiac 31P‐MRS at 7 Tesla
PURPOSE Phosphorus MR spectroscopy ((31) P-MRS) is a powerful tool for investigating tissue energetics in vivo. Cardiac (31) P-MRS is typically performed using surface coils that create an inhomogeneous excitation field across the myocardium. Accurate measurements of B1+ (and hence flip angle) are necessary for quantitative analysis of (31) P-MR spectra. We demonstrate a Bloch-Siegert B1+-mappi...
